Christopher Robert Evans how old is chris evans: ( Boston , June 13, 1981 ) an American actor .  his career in the television series Opposite Sex (2000), and has since appeared in several films, being best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe . In addition, he has appeared in works such as Not Another Teen Movie , Sunshine , Scott Pilgrim vs. the World , Gifted and Snowpiercer .

He made his debut in front of a large audience as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in the film Fantastic Four (2005) and its 2007 sequel , a role that earned him an MTV Movie Award and Teen Choice Award nomination . In 2011, he achieved international recognition for his portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel films . As of 2016, he is one of the highest-grossing actors of all time in North America, with his films grossing over 2.4 billion .

Evans was born in Boston , Massachusetts , and raised in the city of Sudbury. His mother, Lisa Marie (née Capuano), is the artistic director of the Concord Youth Theatre and his father, G. Robert Evans III, is a dentist.  His mother is of Italian and Irish descent , while his father is of British and German ancestry  His parents divorced in 1999.

He has an older sister named Carly, a younger brother named Scott , and a younger sister named Shanna. Carly is a graduate of New York University ‘s Tisch School of the Arts and a high school drama and theater teacher at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, while Scott is an actor and was in the cast of the ABC soap opera One Life to Live . He and his siblings were raised Catholic, hough Evans has expressed pantheistic views,  and a keen interest in the philosophies of Buddhism . Their uncle, Mike Capuano, represented the same Massachusetts congressional district formerly represented by Tip O’Neill  He also has three younger brothers from his father’s second marriage. Evans completed high school at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. ^[ 9 ] He moved to New York City and took classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Evans’ first credited appearance was in a short educational video titled Biodiversity: Wild About Life! in 1997.  In 1999, Evans was “Tyler” in the Hasbro board game Mystery Date . The 1999 version of the game includes an “electronic talking phone” for setting up “dates.” Chris Evans is on the box using the phone as “Tyler”, the “beach” date.  Movie ,Evans landed leading roles in The Perfect Score and Cellular , then starred in two independent films in Chicago: Dirk Witten born’s Fierce People , playing the sinister Bryce, and London , as a drug user with relationship problems . He next played the superhero Johnny Storm, known as the Human Torch , in the 2005 adaptation of the Fantastic Four comic book and reprised the role in the 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer . That year, he starred as the engineer-astronaut Mace in Danny Boyle ‘s science fiction film Sunshine .

In 2008, he appeared in Street Kings , co-starring Keanu Reeves , and the Tennessee Williams adaptation The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond , alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and Ellen Burstyn . The following year, he appeared in the science fiction thriller Push , with Dakota Fanning and Camilla Belle . Evans performed his own fight scenes, which took weeks to film. He was injured during filming. Also that year, he was ranked 474th on Forbes ‘ global box office performance rankings .

In 2010, he completed filming on Adam Kasen’s film Puncture , which he co-directed with Mark Kasen. The film was shot in Houston , Texas , and was selected to premiere at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival as one of the festival’s 10th anniversary projects.  That same year, Evans starred in Sylvain White ‘s feature film The Losers , an adaptation of DC Comics ‘ Vertigo comic book series . He later starred in another comic book adaptation, Edgar Wright ‘s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World , where he played Lucas Lee.

Evans played the role of Captain America in the film Captain America: The First Avenger , and starred in the film What’s Your Number?, a romantic comedy co-starring Anna Fares . There were initially scheduling conflicts, as both films were set to be released in the summer of 2010. The actor signed a contract with Marvel Studios to star in multiple films as Captain America, and reprised the role in the 2012 film The Avengers. He then starred opposite Michael Shannon in The Iceman , replacing James Franco , who had dropped out of the film.  He later appeared in the film Snowpiercer , directed by South Korean director Joon-ho Bong . With actress Evan Rachel Wood , he appeared in the advertising campaigns for Gucci ‘s Guilty perfume and Guilty pour Homme cologne .

In 2014, he starred in Captain America: The Winter Soldier , alongside Sebastian Stan , Scarlett Johansson , Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford , which received better critical reception than his previous film.  He starred alongside Michelle Monaghan in the romantic comedy Playing It Cool . He made his directorial debut with Before We Go , which premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival .

In 2015, he portrayed Captain America again in Avengers: Age of Ultron and reprised the role in the 2016 sequel Captain America: Civil War ,as well as in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and its 2019 sequel, Avengers: Endgame . Evans said in March 2014 that once his contract with Marvel was up, he might consider acting less so that he could do more directing . In September 2015, he stated that he would be willing to sign on for more films as Captain America after Infinity War , if Marvel wanted to extend his contract. However, he later stated that Avengers: Endgame would be his last time playing Captain America.

In 2017, Evans starred in the family drama Gifted  Additionally, the actor made his Broadway debut in Lobby Hero , directed by Trip Cullman, which opened in March 2018 at the Helen Hayes Theatre

In 2019, Evans played the lead role of an Israeli Mossad agent in the Netflix thriller The Red Sea Diving Resort .Later that year, he starred in the murder mystery film Knives Out, released in November 2019 to positive reviews. He was previously considered for a role in the science fiction film Infinite, but declined the project due to scheduling conflicts. He took on the lead role in the miniseries Defending Jacob as Andy Barber. The crime drama series premiered on April 24, 2020, produced and distributed by Apple TV+.

In 2021, Evans made uncredited appearances in Free Guy and Don’t Look Up . The following year, he voiced the character Buzz Lightyear in the animated film Lightyear .  In 2022, Evans starred in the Netflix action thriller film The Gray Man , a film adaptation of the 2009 novel of the same name directed by Anthony and Joe Russo
